Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver
This book pulled me in at page one and I couldn’t put it down. Intense! And not the ending I expected! I won’t tell you why. Her sense of place is, as always, so precise. Luscious. What I didn’t expect was to gain a new perspective (compassion?) for the addicts I see on the streets here everyday.
